Label info: Learning his trade at the Planet Funk studios in the late '90s, Abyss' 'Passion EP' displays all the hallmarks of a master craftsman already glimpsed on Abyss' 'Mind Games' track for Buzzin' Fly and last year’s 'Skim / Shaker / Dirty Colours' EP with Lilith label head Remo on Forensic Records, both of which caught the ear of Jerome Sydenham, who recently signed him to Ibadan Recordings. 'Passion' is a very personal statement from Guiseppe,who sufferd from a temporary disease which requires him to spent a prolonged time in hospital. Creating music is his way of maintaining a normal life in between his spells of treatment, something he hopes will both inspire others and gives the carefully-orchestrated and evershifting moods of the title track a profound emotional.
