Label info: This latest release on Stil vor Talent features two artists that have not previously released on Stil vor Talent. Hirtenfeller from the Berlin-based combo Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner hooks up with the local DJ and producer Philip Bader. And their 'Monday EP' is a total dedication to their city. They start out with the title track 'Monday': a groovy and funky minimal affair that generates its energy from its wonderful bass line. Some tripped-out effects and police sirens complement the music. Over this soundscape Philip Bader sings: ‘Overdose, I don’t know, Monday comes, where can I go’ in his unique voice. They manage to perfectly capture the Monday feeling and this release is surely set to become an anthem for the afterhour. You can see everybody singing along to this on a Monday morning. On the flip Hirtenfellner and Philip Bader continue their minimal musical genius with 'I Try'. A vocoded vocal sample saying “I try to find” is the constant that drives that mad digital loop forward. The pulsating minimal track is pushed by a wobbly bass, some well-placed samples and that extra bit of white noise: Extremely hypnotic ! The last of the bunch is 'Freude 25' which is the perfect contrast to 'Monday'. Where 'Monday' describes the feeling of loss and happiness equally, 'Freude 25' shows us what happens if you stay until Tuesday. The tripped out, somewhat oriental sounding digital effects pave the way for this fest of afterhour-business: A real homage to Berlins legendary afterhour spot Bar 25 and the people that inhabit it. This EP shows where the man behind Stil vor Talent is from: Oliver Koletzki’s roots are in the Berlin underground and so are those of his friends Philip Bader and Hirtenfellner..
